Retirement? Already?

I finally got around to my allocation of my retirement contributions today. In light of my young age, I decided to go with a moderately aggressive allocation.

  • 50% into an

Equity Index , holdings include Microsoft, Intel, IBM. Significant commitments to Finance and Technlogy.

  • 10% into a Global Index , holdings around the world, emphasis in Finance, Energy, and Technology.

  • 20% into a Bond Market Account, a long-term account that invests into US Treasury securities, corporate bonds, and mortgaged backed securities.

  • 20% into an Inflation Linked Bond Account , another long term account that invests into government and corporate backed securities with the aim of outpacing inflation.

Since I started working, 8% of each month's paycheck has been going into my retirement, finally now I've allocated where that 8% allocation (along with the state's contribution of 6.6%) is being redirected to. Maybe someday I'll be able to retire!
